6 Dental Implants Placement without Surgical Incisions or Flaps for a Full-Arch Implant Prosthesis

Case ID: 3778

Case Details

*Graphic Image Below* Patients can opt for flapless surgeries during the implant placement.  This would dramatically minimize post-operative pain and discomfort and greatly reduce the healing time following the procedure. For this particular patient, 10 teeth were extracted and 6 dental implants were immediately placed without making any surgical incisions or flaps. FLAPLESS SURGERIES can be performed using surgical templates (guides) that are made in the dental laboratory prior to the procedure that help aid in the correct placement of the dental implants within the bone. For this case, a free-handed surgical approach was used instead of utilizing surgical templates (guides). In addition, 4 teeth in the posterior region were untouched and allow to remain for the sole purpose of helping with the retention of a temporary (provisional) prosthesis in the mouth during the healing period. Once an adequate healing period has occurred, a definitive or permanent prosthesis of type FP-1 (a fixed prosthesis replacing only the teeth) is fabricated for the patient. In the very end, the patient will be made a full-arch implant prosthesis for the upper mouth supported by 10 dental implants since an extra 4 implants will be added to the posterior region for extra support due to the soft bone that exists in this posterior region for this patient.
