Dental Implant in the Posterior Region

Case ID: 3095

Individual results may vary.

Case Details

A sinus lift is performed through a “lateral window” created at the level of the sinus cavity. The sinus or schneiderian membrane is then elevated and bone grafting material is added to the area of the proposed dental implant site. The dental implant is then placed and allowed to heal. At a later date, the dental implant is functionally loaded with a oral prosthetic implant crown once proper healing time has occurred (osseointegration). For this particular patient, the anatomy for the implant crown has been “reduced” and purposely made less pronounced for the purpose of reducing the stress factors associated with the patient’s parafunctional habits (grinding and clenching).
